Installation Qualification Protocol for Depyrogenation Tunnel
Meta Description: This document outlines the Installation Qualification protocol for the Depyrogenation Tunnel used in the production of prefilled syringes and cartridges, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Tags: Equipment Validation, Installation Qualification, Depyrogenation Tunnel, Prefilled Syringes, Cartridges
Objective
The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to verify that the Depyrogenation Tunnel is installed correctly and operates as intended to ensure effective depyrogenation of syringes and cartridges.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Installation Qualification of the Depyrogenation Tunnel located in the Production area, specifically for the depyrogenation of prefilled syringes and cartridges.
Responsibilities
- Validation Team: Responsible for executing the IQ protocol and documenting results.
- Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the IQ protocol and results.
- Maintenance Team: Responsible for ensuring that the equipment is operational and maintained according to specifications.
Prerequisites
- Completion of equipment installation.
- Availability of relevant documentation (URS, specifications, etc.).
- Training of personnel on the operation of the Depyrogenation Tunnel.
Equipment Description
The Depyrogenation Tunnel is designed to effectively reduce endotoxin levels in prefilled syringes and cartridges. It operates under controlled temperature profiles and belt speeds, monitored by PLC logs to ensure compliance with critical parameters.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| IQ-01 | Verify installation and configuration of the equipment. | All components installed per specifications. | Installation checklist. |
| IQ-02 | Check temperature profile during operation. | Temperature within specified range. | Temperature logs. |
| IQ-03 | Measure belt speed. | Belt speed within specified limits. | Belt speed logs. |
| IQ-04 | Review PLC logs for endotoxin reduction. | Endotoxin levels reduced as per specifications. | PLC log reports. |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case IQ-01
Objective: Verify installation and configuration of the equipment.
Procedure: Inspect all physical components and connections of the Depyrogenation Tunnel.
Acceptance Criteria: All components installed per specifications.
Expected Evidence: Completed installation checklist signed by the validation team.
Test Case IQ-02
Objective: Check temperature profile during operation.
Procedure: Operate the tunnel and record temperature at various points along the belt.
Acceptance Criteria: Temperature within specified range.
Expected Evidence: Temperature logs showing compliance with the temperature profile.
Test Case IQ-03
Objective: Measure belt speed.
Procedure: Use calibrated equipment to measure the belt speed during operation.
Acceptance Criteria: Belt speed within specified limits.
Expected Evidence: Belt speed logs showing compliance.
Test Case IQ-04
Objective: Review PLC logs for endotoxin reduction.
Procedure: Analyze PLC logs to confirm endotoxin reduction levels.
Acceptance Criteria: Endotoxin levels reduced as per specifications.
Expected Evidence: PLC log reports demonstrating compliance.
Deviations
Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and investigated. A root cause analysis should be performed, and corrective actions should be implemented as necessary.
Approvals
All results must be reviewed and approved by the Quality Assurance team prior to concluding the Installation Qualification.
