Objective
The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to verify that the High Pressure Homogenizer / Microfluidizer is installed correctly and operates according to the specifications outlined in the User Requirement Specification (URS) and complies with Annex 11 and Annex 15 guidelines.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Installation Qualification of the High Pressure Homogenizer / Microfluidizer used in the R&D and Production areas for the size reduction and uniformity of Liposomes and Lipid Nanoparticles (LNP).
Responsibilities
The following personnel are responsible for the execution and oversight of this protocol:
- Validation Engineer: [Insert Name]
- Quality Assurance: [Insert Name]
- Equipment Owner: [Insert Name]
Prerequisites
Prior to executing this IQ protocol, the following conditions must be met:
- Equipment must be installed according to manufacturer specifications.
- All utilities (water, electricity, compressed air) must be verified as operational.
- Personnel must be trained on equipment operation and safety procedures.
Equipment Description
The High Pressure Homogenizer / Microfluidizer is designed for size reduction and uniformity of Liposomes and Lipid Nanoparticles, ensuring direct product impact with criticality classified as critical. It operates under specified pressure, temperature, and flow conditions.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance Criteria | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| IQ-01 | Verify installation against manufacturer specifications. | All components installed as per specifications. | Installation checklist. |
| IQ-02 | Check utility connections (water, power, air). | Utilities operational and within specifications. | Utility verification log. |
| IQ-03 | Perform functional checks (pressure, flow). | Pressure and flow meet specified parameters. | Functional test report. |
