Performance Qualification Protocol for Drying Oven in Transdermal Patch Production

Meta Description: This document outlines the Performance Qualification protocol for the Drying Oven used in the production of Transdermal Patches, ensuring compliance with critical parameters and acceptance criteria.

Tags: Equipment Validation, Transdermal Patches, Drying Oven, Performance Qualification

Objective

The objective of this Performance Qualification (PQ) protocol is to verify that the Drying Oven used in the production of Transdermal Patches operates consistently and meets the defined acceptance criteria for critical parameters.

Scope

This protocol applies to the Drying Oven utilized in the production area for drying solvent from coated patch film, directly impacting product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Validation Team: Responsible for executing the PQ protocol and documenting results.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the PQ results.
  • Production Team: Responsible for operating the equipment and ensuring compliance with the protocol.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ).
  • Availability of all necessary equipment and materials.
  • Training of personnel on the use of the Drying Oven.

Equipment Description

The Drying Oven is designed to remove solvents from coated patch films through controlled temperature and airflow. The equipment is critical for ensuring the quality and safety of Transdermal Patches.

Test Plan

Test ID Procedure Acceptance Criteria Evidence
TPQ-01 Measure and record temperature during operation. Temperature within specified range. PLC logs, temperature records.
TPQ-02 Measure and record airflow during operation. Airflow meets specifications. PLC logs, airflow measurements.
TPQ-03 Measure drying time for solvent removal. Drying time within specified limits. Batch records, drying time logs.

Detailed Test Cases

Test Case TPQ-01: Validate temperature control by measuring and logging the temperature at defined intervals during operation. Ensure that the temperature remains within the specified range as per the URS Annex 11 and Annex 15.

Test Case TPQ-02: Validate airflow by measuring the airflow rate at specified points in the drying tunnel. Compare results against established specifications.

Test Case TPQ-03: Validate the drying time by assessing the time taken for solvent removal from the coated patch film. Ensure compliance with defined drying time limits.

Deviations

Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and investigated. A root cause analysis will be performed, and corrective actions will be implemented as necessary.
