Objective
The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to ensure that the Patch Leak Test Machine is installed correctly and operates as intended to verify pouch seal integrity for transdermal patches.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Patch Leak Test Machine located in the Production/QC area and is intended for use in the validation of transdermal patch production processes.
Responsibilities
The following personnel are responsible for the execution and oversight of this protocol:
- Validation Team – Responsible for protocol execution and documentation.
- Quality Assurance – Responsible for review and approval of the protocol.
- Maintenance Team – Responsible for installation and maintenance of the equipment.
Prerequisites
- Completion of equipment installation by the maintenance team.
- Availability of qualified personnel for execution of the protocol.
- Access to relevant documentation including User Requirements Specification (URS) Annex 11.
Equipment Description
The Patch Leak Test Machine is an instrument used to assess the seal integrity of pouches containing transdermal patches. It is designed to detect leaks and ensure that the product is sealed properly to maintain efficacy and safety.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance Criteria | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| IQ-PT-01 | Verify installation according to manufacturer’s specifications. | All components installed as per specification. | Installation checklist signed off. |
| IQ-PT-02 | Check calibration of leak rate sensitivity audit trail logs. | Calibration within specified limits. | Calibration certificate. |
| IQ-PT-03 | Conduct a functional test of the machine. | Machine operates as intended. | Test run report. |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case 1: Installation Verification
Verify that all components of the Patch Leak Test Machine are installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications. Document findings on the installation checklist.
Test Case 2: Calibration Check
Check the calibration of the leak rate sensitivity audit trail logs. Ensure that the calibration falls within the specified limits outlined in the URS Annex 11.
Test Case 3: Functional Testing
Run a functional test of the machine to ensure it operates as intended. Document the results in a test run report.
Deviations
Any deviations from the protocol must be documented and justified. A deviation report must be submitted for review and approval.
