Approval Date: [Date]

Objective

The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) Protocol is to verify that the Nitrogen Purging System is installed correctly and operates as intended to provide an inert atmosphere for the production of prefilled syringes and cartridges.

Scope

This protocol applies to the Nitrogen Purging System located in the Production area, utilized for providing an inert atmosphere during the manufacturing process of prefilled syringes and cartridges.

Responsibilities

The Validation Team is responsible for executing this protocol, ensuring that all installation and operational requirements are met. The Quality Assurance Team will review and approve the documentation.

Prerequisites

  • Installation of the Nitrogen Purging System must be completed.
  • All relevant personnel must be trained on the operation of the system.
  • Maintenance and calibration records must be available and up to date.

Equipment Description

The Nitrogen Purging System is designed to provide a continuous flow of nitrogen gas to create an inert atmosphere in the production area, ensuring the integrity of the prefilled syringes and cartridges during manufacturing.

Test Plan

Test ID Procedure Acceptance Criteria Evidence
IQ-NPS-01 Verify installation of the Nitrogen Purging System. System installed as per manufacturer’s specifications. Installation checklist signed off by the technician.
IQ-NPS-02 Check nitrogen purity levels. Nitrogen purity levels must be ≥ 99.9%. Purity test results log.
IQ-NPS-03 Review flow audit trail logs. Logs must show continuous nitrogen flow during operation. Audit trail log report.

Detailed Test Cases

Test Case 1: Verify Installation

Confirm that the Nitrogen Purging System is installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications. This includes checking all connections, valves, and safety features are in place.

Test Case 2: Nitrogen Purity Check

Measure the nitrogen purity using a gas analyzer. Record the results and ensure that the purity meets or exceeds the acceptance criteria of 99.9%.

Test Case 3: Flow Audit Trail Review

Access the system’s audit trail logs to confirm that nitrogen flow is maintained consistently during the operation. Any interruptions must be documented and investigated.

Deviations

Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented in the deviation log and addressed in accordance with the Change Control procedure.
