Objective
The objective of this Design Qualification (DQ) Protocol is to establish and document the requirements for the Coding Machine used in the production of Transdermal Patches, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and quality standards.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Coding Machine (Laser/Inkjet) used in the Packaging area for printing batch and expiry details on Transdermal Patches, which directly impacts product quality and patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Validation Team: Responsible for executing the DQ protocol and documenting results.
- Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the DQ protocol and results.
- Operations: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Coding Machine.
Prerequisites
- Completion of User Requirement Specification (URS) for the Coding Machine.
- Installation Qualification (IQ) of the Coding Machine.
- Training of personnel on the operation of the Coding Machine.
Equipment Description
The Coding Machine (Laser/Inkjet) is designed for printing batch and expiry details on Transdermal Patches. It operates under controlled conditions to ensure the integrity and clarity of printed information, which is critical for product identification and traceability.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance Criteria | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| T1 | Verify print quality through audit trail logs. | Print quality meets specifications as per URS Annex 11. | Audit trail logs and print samples. |
| T2 | Conduct a functionality test of the coding machine. | Machine operates without errors during a test run. | Test run report. |
| T3 | Perform data integrity checks on printed data. | Data matches input specifications without discrepancies. | Data comparison report. |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case T1: Print Quality Audit Trail Logs
Objective: To verify that print quality is maintained and documented through audit trail logs.
Procedure: Review the audit trail logs for consistency and clarity of printed batch and expiry details.
Acceptance Criteria: Logs must show no discrepancies and print quality must meet the standards outlined in URS Annex 11.
Test Case T2: Functionality Test
Objective: To ensure the coding machine operates correctly.
Procedure: Execute a test run and observe the machine for any operational errors.
Acceptance Criteria: The machine must operate without errors throughout the test run.
Test Case T3: Data Integrity Check
Objective: To confirm that printed data is accurate and matches input specifications.
Procedure: Compare the printed batch and expiry details with the input data.
Acceptance Criteria: All printed data must match the input specifications precisely.
Deviations
Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and investigated. A corrective action plan must be developed and implemented to address any issues identified during testing.
Approvals
