Objective

The objective of this Design Qualification (DQ) protocol is to ensure that the Die Cutting / Punching Machine used in the production of Transdermal Microneedles meets the specified requirements and performs consistently and reliably.

Scope

This protocol applies to the Die Cutting / Punching Machine utilized in the production area for cutting units of Transdermal Microneedles. It encompasses all activities related to the qualification of the equipment.

Responsibilities

The following personnel are responsible for the execution and review of this protocol:

  • Validation Team: Responsible for executing the qualification activities.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the protocol and results.
  • Production Team: Responsible for operating the equipment and reporting any issues.

Prerequisites

Prior to executing this protocol, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • Installation of the Die Cutting / Punching Machine.
  • Completion of the Installation Qualification (IQ).
  • Availability of relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Equipment Description

The Die Cutting / Punching Machine is designed for cutting units from roll stock material to create Transdermal Microneedles. The machine is equipped with precision cutting tools that ensure dimensional accuracy.

Test Plan

Test ID Procedure Acceptance Evidence
T1 Perform dimensional accuracy checks on cut units. All units must meet specified dimensions as per URS Annex11. Measurement records and photographs of samples.
T2 Execute reject logic audit trail review. Audit trail must show all rejected units with reasons. Audit trail logs and summary report.

Detailed Test Cases

Test Case 1: Dimensional Accuracy

Measure the dimensions of 10 randomly selected cut units.

  1. Use calibrated measuring tools.
  2. Record measurements.
  3. Compare against acceptance criteria.

Test Case 2: Reject Logic Audit Trail

Review the audit trail of the machine for the last production batch.

  1. Access the machine’s software audit logs.
  2. Document any rejected units and reasons.
  3. Ensure all rejections are justified and logged properly.

Deviations

Any deviations from the protocol must be documented and assessed for impact on the validation process. A deviation report must be submitted to Quality Assurance for review.
