Tags: Equipment Validation, Installation Qualification, Weighing Balance, Pharmaceutical

Objective

The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to verify that the Weighing Balance is installed according to manufacturer specifications and is suitable for its intended use in the production and dispensing of solid dosage forms.

Scope

This protocol applies to the Weighing Balance (Platform/Floor) used in the Production/Dispensing area for weighing raw materials and intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) within the solid dosage form manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Validation Team: Responsible for executing the IQ protocol and documenting results.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the protocol and results.
  • Maintenance Team: Responsible for ensuring the equipment is maintained and calibrated according to SOPs.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of equipment installation by qualified personnel.
  • Availability of required tools and materials for testing.
  • Access to relevant SOPs, including URS and Calibration SOPs.

Equipment Description

The Weighing Balance is a precision instrument designed to measure the mass of materials. It is essential for ensuring accurate dosing of raw materials in the production of solid dosage forms.

Test Plan

Test ID Procedure Acceptance Evidence
IQ-WB-01 Verify installation according to manufacturer’s specifications. All components installed as per specifications. Installation checklist signed off.
IQ-WB-02 Perform accuracy linearity corner test. Results within ±0.1g of standard weights. Test results log.

Detailed Test Cases

Test Case 1: Installation Verification

Procedure: Inspect all physical connections and settings as per manufacturer’s installation guidelines. Document any discrepancies.

Acceptance Criteria: All components must be installed correctly without any missing parts.

Evidence: Signed installation checklist.

Test Case 2: Accuracy Linearity Corner Test

Procedure: Perform the linearity test using certified weights at the lower, middle, and upper range of the balance. Record the weight readings.

Acceptance Criteria: The readings must be within ±0.1g of the certified weights.

Evidence: Test results log and calibration certificates.

Deviations

All deviations from the protocol must be documented and justified. Any significant deviations impacting the equipment’s performance must be reported to Quality Assurance for further investigation.
