Objective
The objective of this Design Qualification (DQ) protocol is to ensure that the Drum Tippler/Drum Tumbler equipment meets the specified requirements for its intended use in the production and dispensing of solid dosage forms.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Drum Tippler/Drum Tumbler used for drum emptying and transfer within the production area, impacting product quality directly.
Responsibilities
The validation team is responsible for executing this protocol, while the quality assurance team will review and approve the results. All personnel involved must adhere to the outlined procedures and acceptance criteria.
Prerequisites
- Completion of User Requirement Specifications (URS).
- Installation Qualification (IQ) completed.
- Operational Qualification (OQ) plan defined.
Equipment Description
The Drum Tippler/Drum Tumbler is designed for the safe and efficient emptying and transfer of materials from drums in the production area. The equipment includes features such as:
- Tip angle adjustment.
- Speed interlocks for safety.
- Robust construction suitable for solid dosage forms.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance Criteria | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| DQ-01 | Verify tip angle settings and adjust as necessary. | Tip angle must be adjustable within specified range. | Calibration records and adjustment logs. |
| DQ-02 | Test speed interlocks for functionality. | Interlocks must engage and disengage as designed. | Test results and observations. |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case DQ-01: Tip Angle Verification
Objective: Ensure that the tip angle can be adjusted properly.
Procedure: Adjust the tip angle to its maximum and minimum settings. Record the actual angles achieved.
Expected Result: The angles should match the specified limits in the URS.
Test Case DQ-02: Speed Interlock Functionality
Objective: Confirm that speed interlocks function as intended.
Procedure: Operate the equipment at various speeds and test interlock engagement.
Expected Result: Interlocks should activate at the defined speed thresholds.
Deviations
Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and investigated. A corrective action plan should be implemented to address any issues identified during testing.
