Objective

The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to verify that the Single Screw Extruder is installed correctly and operates according to specified requirements in the production of pellets, ensuring direct product impact and compliance with URS Annex11.

Scope

This protocol applies to the installation qualification of the Single Screw Extruder used in the Production/Pellets area for Solid Dosage Form manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Validation Team: Responsible for executing the IQ protocol and documenting results.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the protocol and results.
  • Maintenance Team: Responsible for ensuring the equipment is installed correctly and maintained.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of equipment installation.
  • Availability of relevant documentation (URS, equipment manuals).
  • Training of personnel on equipment operation.

Equipment Description

The Single Screw Extruder is designed for the extrusion of pellets in solid dosage form manufacturing. Key critical parameters include screw speed, feed rate, and torque, which directly impact product quality.

Test Plan

Test ID Procedure Acceptance Criteria Evidence
IQ-1 Verify equipment installation against manufacturer’s specifications. All components must match specifications. Installation checklist signed by maintenance.
IQ-2 Check electrical and mechanical connections. No loose connections; all indicators operational. Visual inspection report.
IQ-3 Perform initial calibration of key parameters. Screw speed, feed rate, and torque within specified ranges. Calibration certificate.
