Purpose

This SOP outlines the procedures for the validation of Bin Blender / IBC Blender used in the production of solid dosage forms, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining product quality.

Scope

This procedure applies to all personnel involved in the validation of Bin Blender / IBC Blender within the production area. It covers the validation lifecycle including Design Qualification (DQ), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).

Definitions

  • Bin Blender / IBC Blender: Equipment used for contained blending of solid dosage forms.
  • Validation: Documented evidence that a system meets its intended use.
  • URS: User Requirements Specification.

Roles

  • Validation Team: Responsible for executing the validation process.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Production Personnel: Operate the equipment and provide feedback during validation.

Lifecycle Procedure

  1. Design Qualification (DQ): Review and approve the design specifications against user requirements.
  2. Installation Qualification (IQ): Verify that the equipment is installed correctly and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  3. Operational Qualification (OQ): Test the equipment under normal operating conditions to ensure it operates as intended.
  4. Performance Qualification (PQ): Confirm that the equipment performs consistently and meets product specifications during actual production runs.

Good Documentation Practices (GDP) Controls

All documentation must be completed in accordance with Good Documentation Practices, including proper date, signature, and corrections procedures.
