Ambient Warehouse – Equipment Validation SOP

Standard Operating Procedure for Equipment Validation in Ambient Warehouse

Purpose

This Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) defines the process for the validation of equipment used in the Ambient Warehouse for the storage of raw materials, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Scope

This SOP applies to the validation of the Ambient Warehouse facility utilized for the storage of general materials within the pharmaceutical manufacturing process.

Definitions

  • DQ: Design Qualification
  • IQ: Installation Qualification
  • OQ: Operational Qualification
  • PQ: Performance Qualification
  • URS: User Requirements Specification

Roles

  • Validation Team: Responsible for conducting the validation activities.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and reviews validation documentation.
  • Warehouse Manager: Oversees operations and maintenance of the warehouse.

Lifecycle Procedure

  1. Conduct Design Qualification (DQ) to ensure the equipment meets the necessary requirements.
  2. Perform Installation Qualification (IQ) to verify that the equipment is installed correctly.
  3. Execute Operational Qualification (OQ) to confirm that the equipment operates within specified limits.
  4. Carry out Performance Qualification (PQ) to ensure the equipment performs as intended under actual conditions.

Good Distribution Practice (GDP) Controls

Ensure that all materials stored in the Ambient Warehouse are handled according to GDP guidelines, maintaining their quality and integrity throughout the storage period.

Acceptance Criteria Governance

Acceptance criteria will follow the guidelines outlined in the User Requirements Specification (URS) and Annex 15 of the relevant regulatory framework to ensure compliance.

Calibration and Preventive Maintenance Governance

Calibration and preventive maintenance shall be conducted as per the established schedule to ensure continued compliance and operational integrity of the warehouse equipment.
