Objective

The objective of this Design Qualification (DQ) protocol is to establish that the Bin Blender / IBC Blender is designed and installed in accordance with the User Requirements Specification (URS) and is capable of performing its intended function in the solid dosage form production area.

Scope

This protocol applies to the validation of the Bin Blender / IBC Blender used for contained blending of solid dosage forms in the production area. It covers the design, installation, and operational aspects of the equipment.

Responsibilities

The Validation Team is responsible for executing this protocol, documenting results, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Quality Assurance (QA) department will review and approve the protocol and final report.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of User Requirement Specification (URS)
  • Installation Qualification (IQ) completed
  • Safety and operational training for personnel

Equipment Description

The Bin Blender / IBC Blender is a contained blending device used for mixing solid dosage forms. It features a docking seal to ensure integrity during operation and is capable of varying RPM settings for optimal blending.

Test Plan

Test ID Procedure Acceptance Evidence
DQ-001 Verify RPM settings and functionality RPM settings within specified range as per URS Calibration report
DQ-002 Check docking seal integrity No leaks observed during operation Visual inspection report
DQ-003 Measure blending time Blending completed within specified time Blending time log

Detailed Test Cases

Test Case 1: Verify RPM Settings

Procedure: Adjust the RPM settings and verify against the URS requirements. Document the RPM readings.

Acceptance Criteria: RPM settings must be within the specified range outlined in the URS.

Evidence: Calibration report to confirm RPM accuracy.

Test Case 2: Check Docking Seal Integrity

Procedure: Operate the blender and inspect the docking seal for any signs of leakage.

Acceptance Criteria: No leaks should be observed during operation.

Evidence: Visual inspection report documenting the integrity of the seal.

Test Case 3: Measure Blending Time

Procedure: Start blending and record the time taken to complete the process.

Acceptance Criteria: Blending must be completed within the time specified in the URS.

Evidence: Blending time log detailing start and end times.

Deviations

Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented, including the reason for deviation and corrective actions taken. A deviation report must be submitted to QA for review.
