Meta Description: This document outlines the Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol for the Crimping Machine used in the production of Nasal and Otic products, ensuring compliance with URS Annex 11.
Tags: Equipment Validation, Installation Qualification, Crimping Machine, Nasal Products, Otic Products
Objective
The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to verify that the Crimping Machine (Pump Fixing) is installed correctly and operates according to specified requirements for the production of Nasal and Otic products.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Crimping Machine used in the Production area for fixing spray pumps to bottles for both sterile and non-sterile nasal and otic products.
Responsibilities
- Validation Team: Prepare and execute the IQ protocol.
- Quality Assurance: Review and approve the IQ documentation.
- Production Personnel: Assist in the installation and provide relevant information.
Prerequisites
- Installation location is prepared and compliant with safety standards.
- All necessary utilities (electricity, compressed air) are available.
- Personnel are trained on the operation of the Crimping Machine.
Equipment Description
The Crimping Machine is designed to securely fix spray pumps to bottles, ensuring a reliable seal for both sterile and non-sterile products. It operates using adjustable crimp force parameters and maintains an audit trail of torque settings.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| IQ-01 | Verify installation of the Crimping Machine. | Machine is installed per manufacturer specifications. | Installation checklist signed off. |
| IQ-02 | Check utility connections (electricity, air). | All utilities are connected and functional. | Utility connection log. |
| IQ-03 | Perform crimp force torque audit trail logging. | Audit trail logs are generated and stored correctly. | Audit trail report. |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case: IQ-01
Objective: Verify the installation of the Crimping Machine.
Procedure: Check the machine setup against the manufacturer’s installation guide.
Acceptance Criteria: Installation is confirmed as per specifications.
Evidence: Installation checklist signed by the Validation Team.
Test Case: IQ-02
Objective: Verify that all utility connections are operational.
Procedure: Inspect and test electrical and compressed air connections.
Acceptance Criteria: All utilities must function within specified parameters.
Evidence: Utility connection log indicating successful tests.
Test Case: IQ-03
Objective: Confirm the functionality of the crimp force torque audit trail.
Procedure: Run a crimping cycle and check the audit trail logs.
Acceptance Criteria: Logs must be complete and retrievable.
Evidence: Audit trail report showing the logs.
Deviations
Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and investigated. Corrective actions should be implemented where necessary.
