Objective

The objective of this Design Qualification (DQ) protocol is to verify that the Drum Lifter is designed and installed to meet the specified requirements for handling and positioning drums in the production area, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and operational efficiency.

Scope

This protocol applies to the validation of the Drum Lifter equipment used in the Solid Dosage Form (OSD) production area for material handling. It encompasses the design specifications, installation requirements, and operational parameters critical to the equipment’s function.

Responsibilities

The Validation Team is responsible for the execution of this DQ protocol, while the Quality Assurance team oversees compliance and documentation. The Engineering team ensures that the equipment meets design specifications.

Prerequisites

1. Completion of User Requirements Specification (URS).

2. Availability of design documents and specifications for the Drum Lifter.

3. Installation of the Drum Lifter in the designated production area.

Equipment Description

The Drum Lifter is a mechanical device designed for handling and positioning drums in the production area. It is equipped with load capacity interlocks to ensure safety and prevent overloading during operation. The equipment is intended for indirect impact on product quality.

Detailed Test Cases

Test Case DQ-001

Objective: To verify that the load capacity interlocks function correctly.

Procedure: Gradually apply load to the Drum Lifter until interlocks engage. Document the load at which engagement occurs.

Acceptance Criteria: Interlocks must engage at the specified load limit as per URS.

Evidence: Record the load measurements and provide photographic evidence of the interlocks in action.

Test Case DQ-002

Objective: To ensure all safety features are operational.

Procedure: Conduct a full operational test of the Drum Lifter, activating all safety features.

Acceptance Criteria: All safety features must activate without failure.

Evidence: Provide an inspection checklist and video documentation of the operational test.

Deviations

Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and assessed for impact on equipment performance and product quality. A corrective action plan should be developed as necessary.

Approvals

This protocol must be approved by the Quality Assurance and Engineering teams before implementation. All signatures must be documented below:
