Approved By: [Name]
Objective
The objective of this Operational Qualification (OQ) protocol is to ensure that the Drum Tippler/Drum Tumbler operates according to specified requirements and meets the acceptance criteria defined in the User Requirement Specification (URS).
Scope
This protocol applies to the validation of the Drum Tippler/Drum Tumbler used in the Production/Dispensing area for the purpose of drum emptying and transfer of solid dosage forms. It covers the critical parameters associated with the operation of this equipment.
Responsibilities
- Validation Team: Prepare, execute, and document the OQ protocol.
- Quality Assurance: Review and approve the protocol and its results.
- Production Personnel: Assist in the execution of tests and provide necessary access to equipment.
Prerequisites
- Installation Qualification (IQ) has been completed and approved.
- Equipment is calibrated and operational prior to testing.
- Personnel are trained on the operation of the Drum Tippler/Drum Tumbler.
Equipment Description
The Drum Tippler/Drum Tumbler is designed to facilitate the emptying and transfer of drums containing solid dosage forms. It features adjustable tip angles and speed interlocks to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance Criteria | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| OQ-001 | Verify tip angle adjustment functionality. | Tip angle adjusts within specified range. | Adjustment logs and photographs. |
| OQ-002 | Test speed interlocks during operation. | Speed interlocks engage and disengage correctly. | Test run logs and observation records. |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case OQ-001: Verify Tip Angle Adjustment Functionality
Objective: To confirm that the tip angle can be adjusted within the specified range.
Procedure: Adjust the tip angle to its minimum and maximum settings. Record the settings and verify against specifications.
Acceptance Criteria: The tip angle must adjust within the defined range as per the URS.
Evidence: Documented adjustment logs and photographs of the angle settings.
Test Case OQ-002: Test Speed Interlocks During Operation
Objective: To ensure that speed interlocks function correctly during operation.
Procedure: Operate the Drum Tippler and observe the engagement of speed interlocks at various speeds.
Acceptance Criteria: Interlocks must engage and disengage as specified in the operational manual.
Evidence: Test run logs and observation records.
Deviations
Any deviations from the acceptance criteria will be documented and assessed for impact on the validation status of the equipment.
Approvals
This protocol requires approval from the Quality Assurance department prior to execution. All results must be reviewed and approved upon completion of the testing.
