Meta Description: This document outlines the Performance Qualification protocol for a Drying Oven utilized in the production of Drug-Eluting Stents, ensuring compliance with critical quality standards.

Tags: Equipment Validation, PQ, Drying Oven, Coated Devices, R&D, Production

Objective

The objective of this Performance Qualification (PQ) protocol is to ensure that the Drying Oven used for curing and drying coatings on Drug-Eluting Stents operates consistently within defined parameters to meet product quality standards.

Scope

This protocol applies to the Drying Oven located in the R&D/Production area and is intended for the qualification of equipment used in the manufacturing process of Drug-Eluting Stents and other coated devices.

Responsibilities

The following personnel are responsible for the execution and approval of this PQ protocol:

  • Validation Team: Protocol execution and documentation.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and approval of the protocol.
  • Production Team: Operation of the Drying Oven during testing.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ).
  • Availability of all necessary equipment and materials.
  • Training of personnel on the operation of the Drying Oven.

Equipment Description

The Drying Oven is designed for curing and drying coatings on medical devices, specifically Drug-Eluting Stents. It features precise temperature control, airflow management, and uniform heating capabilities.

Test Plan

Test ID Procedure Acceptance Criteria Evidence
PQ-DO-01 Temperature Uniformity Test Temperature variation within ±2°C across the chamber Temperature mapping report
PQ-DO-02 Time to Reach Setpoint Time to reach setpoint within 10 minutes Time log
PQ-DO-03 Airflow Verification Airflow rate within specified limits Airflow measurement report

Detailed Test Cases

Test Case 1: Temperature Uniformity Test

Procedure: Place temperature sensors at various locations within the Drying Oven. Record temperature readings over a specified period.

Acceptance Criteria: Temperature variation must not exceed ±2°C.

Evidence: Documented temperature mapping report.

Test Case 2: Time to Reach Setpoint

Procedure: Set the Drying Oven to the specified temperature and record the time taken to reach the setpoint.

Acceptance Criteria: Must reach setpoint within 10 minutes.

Evidence: Time log documentation.

Test Case 3: Airflow Verification

Procedure: Measure the airflow rate using appropriate equipment at designated points within the oven.

Acceptance Criteria: Airflow must be within specified limits as defined in the URS.

Evidence: Documented airflow measurement report.

Deviations

Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and assessed for impact on product quality. A corrective action plan should be implemented as necessary.

Approvals

The following individuals must approve this Performance Qualification protocol:

  • Validation Team Lead: ____________________ Date: __________
  • Quality Assurance Manager: ____________________ Date: __________
  • Production Supervisor: ____________________ Date: __________

Data Integrity Checks

As CSV is required, ensure the following data integrity checks during the PQ:

  • Verification of data entry accuracy during temperature and airflow measurements.
  • Regular audits of data logs to ensure completeness and consistency.
  • Backup of all electronic data in compliance with regulatory standards.
