Performance Qualification Protocol for Inline Conductivity Meter in IV Infusions
Meta Description: This document outlines the Performance Qualification (PQ) protocol for the Inline Conductivity Meter used in IV Infusions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Tags: Equipment Validation, IV Infusions, Inline Conductivity Meter, PQ Protocol
Objective
The objective of this Performance Qualification (PQ) protocol is to verify that the Inline Conductivity Meter operates within specified parameters to ensure accurate monitoring of solution conductivity in IV Infusions.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Inline Conductivity Meter used in the Production area for monitoring IV Infusion solutions (LVP/SVP – Bags/Bottles).
Responsibilities
- Validation Team: Execute the PQ protocol and document results.
- Quality Assurance: Review and approve the protocol and results.
- Production Personnel: Ensure the equipment is maintained and calibrated as per SOPs.
Prerequisites
- Completion of Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ).
- All personnel involved in the PQ must be trained on the Inline Conductivity Meter.
Equipment Description
The Inline Conductivity Meter is a system used to continuously monitor the conductivity of IV infusion solutions, ensuring that they meet specified conductivity levels critical for patient safety.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance Criteria | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| TP-001 | Verify accuracy of conductivity readings against a calibrated standard. | ± 2% of the standard value. | Calibration report and test results. |
| TP-002 | Check alarm functionality for high/low conductivity. | Alarms activate within specified limits. | Alarm test log. |
| TP-003 | Review audit trail for data integrity. | No missing data entries; all changes logged. | Audit trail report. |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case 1: Accuracy Verification
Procedure: Perform conductivity tests using a known standard solution. Compare readings from the Inline Conductivity Meter with the standard values.
Expected Result: Readings should fall within ± 2% of the standard value.
Test Case 2: Alarm Functionality
Procedure: Simulate high and low conductivity conditions to trigger alarms. Verify that alarms activate as expected.
Expected Result: Alarms should activate within specified limits.
Test Case 3: Audit Trail Review
Procedure: Review the audit trail for the Inline Conductivity Meter to ensure all data entries and modifications are logged.
Expected Result: No missing data entries; all changes should be documented.
Deviations
Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and investigated. A deviation report should be generated for any non-conformance with the specified parameters.
