Objective
The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to verify that the Inline Heater/Heat Exchanger is installed correctly and operates according to the defined specifications for the production of IV infusions.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Inline Heater/Heat Exchanger used in the production area for heating and cooling bulk solutions in IV infusion bags and bottles. It covers installation verification and operational parameters that impact product quality.
Responsibilities
The Validation Team is responsible for executing this protocol, while the Quality Assurance (QA) team will review and approve the results. The Production team will assist in the installation process.
Prerequisites
- Completion of equipment installation as per manufacturer’s specifications.
- Availability of all necessary documentation including URS, design specifications, and maintenance records.
- Training of personnel involved in the operation of the equipment.
Equipment Description
The Inline Heater/Heat Exchanger is a system designed to heat or cool bulk solutions efficiently. It operates by transferring heat through a series of coils and plates, ensuring optimal temperature control for IV infusion products.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| IQ-01 | Verify installation against manufacturer’s specifications. | All installation components match specifications. | Installation checklist |
| IQ-02 | Check for proper electrical connections. | No loose connections; all indicators functional. | Electrical inspection report |
| IQ-03 | Test temperature flow and heat transfer efficiency. | Temperature maintains within specified limits. | Temperature log |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case: IQ-01
Objective: Verify installation against manufacturer’s specifications.
Procedure: Review installation checklist and confirm each component.
Acceptance Criteria: All components must match the specifications outlined in the URS.
Evidence: Documented installation checklist.
Test Case: IQ-02
Objective: Check for proper electrical connections.
Procedure: Inspect all electrical connections and indicators for functionality.
Acceptance Criteria: No loose connections; all indicators must function correctly.
Evidence: Electrical inspection report.
Test Case: IQ-03
Objective: Test temperature flow and heat transfer efficiency.
Procedure: Measure temperature at various points in the system during operation.
Acceptance Criteria: Temperature must remain within specified limits as defined in the URS.
Evidence: Temperature log with recorded data.
Deviations
