Objective
The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to verify that the Micro-molding Press / Hot Embossing Unit is installed correctly and operates according to the specified requirements for the production of transdermal microneedles.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Installation Qualification of the Micro-molding Press / Hot Embossing Unit used in the R&D and Production areas for the manufacture of NDDS transdermal microneedles.
Responsibilities
The Quality Assurance (QA) team is responsible for reviewing and approving this protocol. The Equipment Maintenance team will execute the installation and testing procedures.
Prerequisites
1. Completion of Equipment Purchase and Installation Checklist.
2. Availability of all necessary documentation, including User Requirements Specification (URS) and manufacturer’s installation instructions.
Equipment Description
The Micro-molding Press / Hot Embossing Unit is designed to form microstructures for transdermal delivery systems. It operates under controlled pressure, temperature, and dwell time to ensure product integrity and performance.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance Criteria | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| IQ-01 | Verify installation against manufacturer specifications. | All components installed as per specifications. | Installation checklist signed off. |
| IQ-02 | Check electrical connections and functionality. | Unit powers on without errors. | Power-on test log. |
| IQ-03 | Calibrate pressure, temperature, and dwell time settings. | Settings match specified parameters. | Calibration records. |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case IQ-01
Objective: To ensure the equipment is installed as per the manufacturer’s specifications.
Procedure: Review installation checklist and compare against specifications.
Acceptance Criteria: All components must match the manufacturer’s specifications.
