Installation Qualification Protocol for Microencapsulation Reactor/Vessel

Meta Description: This document outlines the Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol for the Microencapsulation Reactor/Vessel used in R&D/Production for NDDS.

Tags: Equipment Validation, Microencapsulation, NDDS, IQ Protocol

Objective

The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to verify that the Microencapsulation Reactor/Vessel is installed according to manufacturer specifications and is suitable for its intended use in microencapsulation via emulsification/solvent evaporation.

Scope

This protocol applies to the Microencapsulation Reactor/Vessel used in the R&D/Production area for the development of NDDS involving microspheres and microcapsules.

Responsibilities

  • Validation Team: Responsible for executing the IQ protocol and documenting results.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the IQ protocol and results.
  • Maintenance Team: Responsible for ensuring that the equipment is maintained according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

Prerequisites

  • Installation of the Microencapsulation Reactor/Vessel must be completed.
  • All utilities (water, electricity) must be operational.
  • Staff must be trained on the operation of the equipment.

Equipment Description

The Microencapsulation Reactor/Vessel is designed for microencapsulation via emulsification and solvent evaporation. It features adjustable agitation, temperature control, and a programmable addition rate for solvents and emulsifiers.

Test Plan

Test ID Procedure Acceptance Criteria Evidence
IQ-01 Verify installation of the reactor/vessel according to the manufacturer’s specifications. All components installed as per the manufacturer’s guidelines. Installation checklist signed off by validation team.
IQ-02 Check utility connections (water, electricity). All utilities operational with no leaks. Utility connection log.
IQ-03 Test agitation functionality. Agitation speed within specified range. Agitation speed log.
IQ-04 Verify temperature control. Temperature maintained within specified limits. Temperature log.
IQ-05 Check addition rate of solvents/emulsifiers. Rate within specified limits. Addition rate log.
