Installation Qualification Protocol for Powder Compounding Vessel Used in Sachets and Stick Packs
Objective
The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to ensure that the Powder Compounding Vessel (Jacketed SS) is installed correctly and operates according to the specified requirements for producing bulk powder blends or granulations for sachet filling.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Installation Qualification of the Powder Compounding Vessel used in the production area for non-sterile sachets and stick packs.
Responsibilities
- Validation Team: Responsible for executing the IQ protocol and documenting results.
- Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the IQ protocol and results.
- Maintenance Team: Responsible for ensuring the equipment is installed according to specifications.
Prerequisites
- Equipment must be delivered and inspected upon arrival.
- Installation area must be cleared and prepared for equipment setup.
- All necessary utilities (water, electricity, etc.) must be available and functional.
Equipment
The Powder Compounding Vessel (Jacketed SS) is designed for the preparation of bulk powder blends or granulations. It features a jacketed design for temperature control and is constructed from stainless steel to meet production standards.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance Criteria | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| IQ-01 | Verify installation of equipment in designated area. | Equipment is installed according to manufacturer specifications. | Installation checklist signed by Validation Team. |
| IQ-02 | Check utility connections (water, electricity). | All utility connections are secure and operational. | Utility connection log. |
| IQ-03 | Perform a functional test of the equipment. | Equipment operates within specified parameters (mixing speed, temperature, blending time). | Functional test report. |
| IQ-04 | Review PLC audit trail for accuracy. | Audit trail reflects accurate operational history. | PLC audit trail report. |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case: IQ-01
Verify that the equipment is installed in the correct location as per the site plan. Document any discrepancies.
Test Case: IQ-02
Check all utility connections to ensure they meet operational requirements. Document any issues or repairs made.
Test Case: IQ-03
Conduct a functional test to confirm that the equipment operates within the specified parameters:
- Mixing Speed: [Insert Value]
- Temperature: [Insert Value]
- Blending Time: [Insert Value]
Document any deviations from expected performance.
Test Case: IQ-04
Review the PLC audit trail for completeness and accuracy. Ensure that all critical parameters are logged correctly.
Deviations
Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and investigated. A root cause analysis should be performed, and corrective actions must be implemented.
Approvals
All results must be reviewed and approved by the Quality Assurance team prior to the equipment being released for use in production.
