Slitting Machine – OQ Protocol

Operational Qualification Protocol for Slitting Machine Used in Transdermal Patches Production

Document Number: OQ-TDS-SLITTING-001

Version: 1.0

Effective Date: [Insert Date]

Review Date: [Insert Date]

Objective

The objective of this Operational Qualification (OQ) protocol is to verify that the Slitting Machine used for cutting coated rolls into strips for transdermal patches operates within specified limits and meets all acceptance criteria as defined in the User Requirement Specification (URS) Annex 11.

Scope

This protocol applies to the Slitting Machine located in the Production area, specifically for the manufacturing of transdermal patches. It encompasses the validation of critical parameters affecting product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Validation Team: Responsible for executing the OQ protocol and documenting results.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the OQ protocol and results.
  • Production Personnel: Responsible for operating the Slitting Machine during the qualification process.

Prerequisites

  • Installation Qualification (IQ) must be completed and approved.
  • Training on the operation of the Slitting Machine must be completed by all relevant personnel.
  • Necessary tools and materials must be available for testing.

Equipment Description

The Slitting Machine is designed to cut coated rolls of transdermal patches into specified strip widths. It is equipped with a PLC for precise control and monitoring of the slitting process.

Test Plan

Test ID Procedure Acceptance Criteria Evidence
OQ-TDS-SLIT-001 Verify slitting width Width within ±0.5 mm of target Measurement logs
OQ-TDS-SLIT-002 Check blade alignment Alignment within specified tolerance Calibration report
OQ-TDS-SLIT-003 Review PLC logs No errors during operation PLC log files

Detailed Test Cases

Test Case OQ-TDS-SLIT-001: Verify Slitting Width

Procedure: Measure the width of the slits produced by the machine using a caliper. Perform measurements at multiple points across the roll.

Acceptance Criteria: Width must be within ±0.5 mm of the target width.

Evidence: Document all measurements in the logbook.

Test Case OQ-TDS-SLIT-002: Check Blade Alignment

Procedure: Inspect the blade alignment using a straight edge and adjust as necessary.

Acceptance Criteria: Blade alignment must be within specified tolerance.

Evidence: Record the alignment adjustments in the maintenance log.

Test Case OQ-TDS-SLIT-003: Review PLC Logs

Procedure: Access and review PLC logs for errors or alerts during the slitting process.

Acceptance Criteria: No errors should be present in the logs during operation.

Evidence: Save and document PLC log files.

Deviations

Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and justified. The validation team must assess the impact on product quality and determine the necessary corrective actions.
