Standard Operating Procedure for Equipment Validation of V Blender

Equipment Validation,
Solid Dosage Form,
V Blender,
Production,
Blending

Purpose

This SOP outlines the procedures for the validation of the V Blender used in the blending of powders and granules within the Solid Dosage Form production area.

Scope

This procedure applies to the validation of the V Blender in all production and blending operations at the facility.

Definitions

  • V Blender: A piece of equipment used for blending powders and granules.
  • Validation: The process of establishing documented evidence that a system or process consistently produces a result meeting predetermined specifications.
  • URS: User Requirements Specification.

Roles

  • Validation Team: Responsible for developing and executing validation protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Production Staff: Operates the V Blender and ensures adherence to SOPs.

Lifecycle Procedure

  1. Design Qualification (DQ): Verify that the V Blender meets user requirements.
  2. Installation Qualification (IQ): Confirm the installation of the V Blender is in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  3. Operational Qualification (OQ): Validate the operational parameters of the V Blender.
  4. Performance Qualification (PQ): Demonstrate that the V Blender performs effectively under actual production conditions.

GDP Controls

Good Documentation Practices (GDP) must be followed throughout the validation process, including accurate recording of all data and signatures on validation documents.

Acceptance Criteria Governance

Acceptance criteria for validation will be based on the User Requirements Specification (URS) and must be met during the OQ and PQ stages.

Calibration/PM Governance

The V Blender shall undergo regular calibration and preventive maintenance as per the maintenance schedule to ensure consistent performance.

Change Control Triggers

Any modifications to the V Blender or its operating procedures shall trigger a change control process, including revalidation if necessary.

Revalidation Triggers and Periodic Review

The V Blender will require revalidation every 24 months or whenever significant changes occur, including equipment modifications, process changes, or deviations.
