Objective

The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to verify that the Vacuum Tray Dryer is installed according to manufacturer specifications and meets the requirements set forth in the User Requirement Specification (URS).

Scope

This protocol applies to the Installation Qualification of the Vacuum Tray Dryer used for low-temperature drying in the production area for solid dosage forms (OSD).

Responsibilities

The following personnel are responsible for the execution of this protocol:

  • Validation Engineer: Responsible for protocol execution and documentation.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for review and approval of the protocol.
  • Maintenance Personnel: Responsible for installation and setup of the equipment.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of equipment installation by qualified personnel.
  • Availability of necessary tools and materials for testing.
  • Review and approval of the User Requirement Specification (URS).

Equipment Description

The Vacuum Tray Dryer is designed for low-temperature drying of solid dosage forms. It operates under a vacuum to facilitate moisture removal while minimizing thermal degradation of the product.

Test Plan

Test ID Procedure Acceptance Criteria Evidence
IQ-01 Verify vacuum level Vacuum level meets specifications as per URS Calibration report
IQ-02 Check temperature uniformity Temperature uniformity within acceptable limits Temperature mapping report

Detailed Test Cases

Test Case IQ-01: Verify Vacuum Level

Objective: To ensure the vacuum level is within specified limits.

See also  Multi Mill – Equipment Validation SOP

Procedure: Measure the vacuum level using calibrated gauges. Record the readings.

Acceptance Criteria: The vacuum level should meet the specifications outlined in the URS.

Evidence: Calibration report and measurement logs.

Test Case IQ-02: Check Temperature Uniformity

Objective: To confirm that the temperature remains uniform during operation.

Procedure: Conduct temperature mapping with multiple sensors throughout the drying chamber. Analyze the data for uniformity.

Acceptance Criteria: Temperature variations should be within acceptable limits as defined in the URS.

Evidence: Temperature mapping report and analysis summary.

Deviations

Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and addressed in accordance with the Change Control and Deviation Management procedures.
