Objective
The objective of this Installation Qualification (IQ) protocol is to verify that the CO2 incubator is installed correctly, operates as intended, and meets the specified requirements for cell culture growth in biologics production.
Scope
This protocol applies to the installation of the CO2 incubator used in the production area for cell culture growth. It covers all activities necessary to ensure the equipment is properly installed and operational.
Responsibilities
Validation Team: Responsible for executing the IQ protocol and documenting results.
Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the IQ documentation.
Maintenance Team: Responsible for ensuring the equipment is maintained and calibrated as per the manufacturer’s specifications.
Prerequisites
1. Installation of the CO2 incubator must be completed.
2. All utilities (electricity, water, HVAC) must be verified and functional.
3. Personnel must be trained on the operation of the CO2 incubator.
Equipment Description
The CO2 incubator is designed for the growth of cell cultures in a controlled environment. It features precise temperature, CO2, and humidity control, and is equipped with PLC logging capabilities for monitoring critical parameters.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance Criteria | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| IQ-001 | Verify installation against manufacturer specifications. | Installation meets all specifications. | Installation checklist signed off. |
| IQ-002 | Check utility connections (electricity, water). | All connections are secure and functional. | Utility verification report. |
| IQ-003 | Test temperature control functionality. | Temperature maintained within ± 0.5°C. | Temperature log from PLC. |
| IQ-004 | Test CO2 control functionality. | CO2 maintained within ± 0.1%. | CO2 log from PLC. |
| IQ-005 | Test humidity control functionality. | Humidity maintained within ± 5% RH. | Humidity log from PLC. |
