Performance Qualification Protocol for Viscometer/Rheometer in NDDS Analytics
Meta Description: This document outlines the Performance Qualification protocol for the Viscometer/Rheometer used in NDDS analytics within QC/R&D, focusing on viscosity and rheology for delivery performance.
Tags: Performance Qualification, Equipment Validation, NDDS, Quality Control, Rheology, Viscosity
Objective
The objective of this Performance Qualification (PQ) protocol is to demonstrate that the Viscometer/Rheometer operates consistently and reliably within specified limits for viscosity and rheology measurements, ensuring product quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
Scope
This protocol applies to the Performance Qualification of the Viscometer/Rheometer used in the QC/R&D area for NDDS analytics, focusing on critical quality attributes (CQA) and critical process parameters (CPP).
Responsibilities
- Validation Team: Responsible for executing the PQ protocol and documenting results.
- Quality Assurance: Responsible for reviewing and approving the PQ protocol and results.
- Equipment Operator: Responsible for operating the Viscometer/Rheometer per SOPs during testing.
Prerequisites
- Completion of Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ).
- Training of personnel on the use of the Viscometer/Rheometer.
- Availability of all required materials and standards for testing.
Equipment Description
The Viscometer/Rheometer is an analytical instrument used to measure the viscosity and rheological properties of materials to assess their delivery performance in NDDS formulations. It features precise measurement capabilities and data logging functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Test Plan
| Test ID | Procedure | Acceptance Criteria | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| TP-001 | Perform viscosity measurement at specified temperatures and shear rates. | Results must be within ±5% of expected values. | Test report and raw data sheets. |
| TP-002 | Conduct repeatability tests over three consecutive runs. | Standard deviation must be ≤ 2% of mean viscosity. | Statistical analysis report. |
| TP-003 | Verify audit trail functionality during data collection. | Audit trail must capture all data changes with timestamps. | Audit trail logs. |
Detailed Test Cases
Test Case 1: Viscosity Measurement
Objective: To ensure the viscometer accurately measures viscosity.
Procedure: Measure viscosity of standard solutions at 25°C and 50°C.
Expected Result: Values must be within ±5% of the known standards.
Test Case 2: Repeatability
Objective: To assess the repeatability of viscosity measurements.
Procedure: Conduct three measurements of the same sample consecutively.
Expected Result: Standard deviation ≤ 2% of the mean.
Test Case 3: Data Integrity Checks
Objective: To verify the integrity of data collected.
Procedure: Review the audit trail for any discrepancies or unauthorized changes.
Expected Result: No unauthorized changes; all data logged correctly with timestamps.
Deviations
Any deviations from the acceptance criteria must be documented and investigated. A root cause analysis should be conducted, and corrective actions must be implemented and verified.
Approvals
This protocol must be reviewed and approved by the Quality Assurance team prior to execution. All results must be reviewed and approved upon completion of testing.
